Fantastic Final Friday!

Happy Friday Bobcats! You made it! We have come to the end of our online learning for the year! We are so proud of all you have accomplished while we were in and out of school. We have had so much fun watching you grow throughout the year! What was your favorite activity or game during our PE time? Mrs. Emert and I would have to agree that Battleships is one of our favorite games! We hope you stay active and make good choices throughout the summer! Remember to be kind, have fun and enjoy each day with a smile!                                                                       Love Always,                                                               Mrs. Emert and Mrs. Ham

Thankful Thursday!

Good Morning Friends, May is Bike Safety Month!  Riding your bike is excellent exercise but please make sure you are always being super safe! Safety Tips: *Wear a properly-fitted HELMET!!! Always. *Wear bright colors and use lights, reflectors! *Ride on the sidewalk when you can. If not, ride in the same direction as traffic as far on the right-hand side as possible.   *If you are with your family and on a road, use hand signals before turning and follow the rules of the road. Have fun and be safe in all you do! Smiles, Mrs. Emert

Wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday Bobcats!! We hope you are having a great week so far! Don't forget to check out our Virtual Field Day! Today I challenge you to make a fire escape plan with your family. You can simply sit down and have a conversation about it or draw a map. Make sure you discuss a meeting place and how you would get there safely. Have a great day! Mrs. Ham

Terrific Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Bobcats! You are almost there! Keep up the great work and don’t get discouraged.  As a famous hockey player once said, “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.” Take the shot!! On the field, in the classroom and in life—work hard, work smart but don’t ever let the fear of failure hold you back! You’ve got this! If you’ve got some time, try out one of our Virtual Field Day games! The link is also in Seesaw under the “Activities” tab.  We can’t wait to see our Bobcats in Action! We miss you and wish we could be with you like we were the beautiful Field Day that this picture was taken:). Know we’re still cheering you on to the finish line!  Love, Mrs. Emert

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday Bobcats! I hope you had a great weekend! We are entering our last week of online learning before summer break! Which means its Field Day week! Below is a choice board of different activities you and your family can do any time! We would love to see pictures of your families Field Day, so make sure to post about it on seesaw or email Mrs. Emert or Mrs. Ham! Have fun during these activities and make sure to use good sportsmanship when playing. What does good sportsmanship look like to you? Can you come up with 3 ways to be a kind competitor during sporting games or activities? Enjoy your week! Fun Friday!

Greetings Bobcats! You did it! You have almost completed another week of online learning! I am so proud of all of the work you have done at home! Today is going to be a beautiful hot day! I hope you have the opportunity to go outside and play! We are going to do some water play today and I am so excited! We worked on our underhand toss at the beginning of the year. Remember when you do the underhand toss you have a few steps to complete to be successful! I challenge you today to play a game of corn-hole and see who can get to 17 first. If you don't have a corn-hole board be creative! You can make a circle with chalk, or sticks and use a pair of old socks balled up! Be creative and have fun! Remember Bobcats always use good sportsmanship! :) Love, Mrs. Ham On a corn-hole board: If you score on the board 1 point. If you score in the hole you get 3 points. Make your own board: If you score in the circle 1 point. If you score on your middle target (paper plate or piece of pap

Thankful Thursday!

Greetings Bobcats, Last week, Mrs. Ham wrote to you about taking care of yourself emotionally, mentally, and physically.  I want talk a bit about SELF CARE because it is so important that we check in with ourselves and do things that make us HAPPY! How are you feeling?  What do you need right now?  For instance, if you’re feeling overwhelmed and you need a break, take one!  Do something that brings you JOY-meditate, rest, exercise, journal, be in nature!  Listen to your bodies, take care of yourself.  Love yourself.  Take the time to smell the 🌸’s , like our Ollie! What will you do-just for you- today? You are awesome and very much missed! 💗Mrs. Emert

Happy Wednesday!!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a great week so far! Below is a video from BrainPop. The video talks about the importance of hand washing during this time and what soap does to the germs on your hands. Can you think of 3 different times it is important to wash your hands? I hope you have a wonderful day! Love, Mrs. Ham Hand Washing Video I have no rights to this video.

Terrific Tuesday!

Good morning, Bobcats! As most of you know, sun safety is something I am very serious about!  So, here we go!! Some sun is good and here’s why.  When our skin is exposed to the sun, our bodies make vitamin D, which helps our body absorb calcium for stronger, healthier bones.  We also get vitamin D from healthy foods and even supplements so you only need a short amount of time in the sun! Too much unprotected exposure to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause skin damage, eye damage, weakener immune system, and skin cancer.  This is why you *MUST PROTECT YOURSELF* by wearing SUNSCREEN and avoiding too much exposure. ☀️Before you head out, be sun smart:☀️ 🌞use SUNSCREEN (SPF 30+) ☂ seek SHADE and 🧢COVER up👕 between 10-4 when the sun is the strongest 😎 wear SUNGLASSES  to protect you eyes 🖐apply and reapply sunscreen often and generously! Have fun, be smart! 💗Mrs. Emert

Thankful Thursday!

Good Morning, Bobcats! Ace never lets us forget his water bottle when we go on hikes. He will refuse to walk when he’s thirsty and just stare at his water bottle!  He’s super cute!  Let Ace be a reminder to you of the importance of staying HYDRATED!! You need to be drinking water all throughout the day.  A good goal for you is 5-7 glasses a day.  Adults need 8-10 glasses!  Juice is okay— in moderation, as a treat —but remember it has a lot of added sugar!!  Have a beautiful day!  I miss each one of you! (Look for a “water challenge” on the next Specialist’s Board!) 💜Mrs. Emert

Wonderful Wednesday!

Greetings Bobcats!  There are different ways to be healthy we call these healthy habits. We talk about our physical health a lot! Eating healthy, getting plenty of exercise, going to the doctor and making safe choices. There is something called your emotional health. Emotional health is when you are working to feel good about yourself, you do something to make yourself happy and you are able to share and understand feelings. There is another healthy habit called social health. Social health is working on how to talk to others in a kind way, being able to work through problems with others and knowing how to build and maintain a healthy friendship. Today I challenge you to sit down with the adult in your family and write down or talk about an example of each healthy habit that you already do. You could even talk about how you can improve these healthy habits. Stay Happy and Healthy! Love, Mrs. Ham

Terrific Tuesday!

Hello Bobcats! I’m feeling a little tired this morning, so let’s talk SLEEP💤!  Sleep is as important as exercise for your body and brain.  Did you know that researchers believe too little sleep can affect growth and your immune system—which keeps you from getting sick? I know life feels a lot different right now but it’s important to stick to your normal sleep schedule and that means going to bed at your regular time. I plan to go to bed earlier tonight:). Remember, you guys need a total of 10-12 hours of sleep a night! Even our pets need sleep to stay healthy just like we do. As you can see, Ollie loves to snuggle up and sleep!  How many hours of sleep did you get last night?  Do you need more tonight, like me? Stay healthy, stay active and rest well! Miss you much, Mrs. Emert 💫

Happy Monday!

Hello Bobcats! I hope you had a great weekend! I sure did! It was a beautiful weekend! We gathered sticks from our yard and sat around a fire. Today should be another beautiful day, I hope you are able to get outside and enjoy it! I also challenge you to do something kind for someone else today. Maybe that means helping clean up the yard or taking out the trash. Maybe you can help make lunch or dinner with your family. What can you do to help someone else today? Stay happy and healthy! With Love, Mrs. Ham

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday Bobcats! You have almost made it through another week of online learning! Great Job! Did you know there are 206 bones in the human body!? Babies have more bones and as they grow their bones fuse together and create the bones we have today! Do you know where the largest bone of your body is located? If you said the femur and pointed to your upper leg you are correct! How about the smallest bone? Yes! The smallest bone is located in your ear! That bone is called the stapes and is located in your middle ear. I challenge you to draw a skeleton and label as many bones as you can! You could also create a skeleton using any household items like the pasta skeleton below. Send us pictures :) Have a great weekend! Try to get outside and enjoy the nice weather! Miss you tons! -Mrs. Ham
